Why did you decide to join HSL?

I joined HSL in early 2006. I decided to join and stay on with HSL because of two key reasons. Firstly, it is a young and promising company having well-formulated business plans for sustainable growth. I believe that when a young company is on its growth path, it presents great opportunities to its people for stretching their limits and developing leadership skills. Secondly, the organization has in place Individual Development Plans and structured Career Progression Paths for its employees which I deem crucial in propelling employees’ career growth.

What was your initial involvement in HSL?

In my early years, I was given many stretched assignments to gain exposure in almost every aspects of business operation of the company. The assignments vary from analyzing the performance of various projects to setting up overseas business operations. These experiences have given me the exceptional breadth and depth for both my professional and personal growth in a short period of time. It has also greatly increased my confidence in overcoming challenges and helped me to establish good rapport with colleagues from various departments.

What keeps you moving?

The exciting work assignments, the friendly work environment, the quality mentoring program and the focus on people development are key factors that positively impact our feelings about HSL. In my opinion these factors also create an environment for talents clamoring for their career growth.

What are you currently working on?

I am currently overseeing business development for both local and regional markets. I work very closely with the top management to understand the company’s future directions and assist them in formulating business strategies accordingly. My responsibilities also include overseeing the operation of HSL’s sister companies. It has indeed been a rewarding journey thus far.
