Mooring systems are installed for anchoring vessels or floating structures, as well as for stabilizing unloading of mega structures. Demolition of offshore structures is carried out to facilitate new marine developments or when structures fall into disrepair. Prior to pulling down the structures and extracting the piles both above and under water, studies are conducted to assess and manage environmental and safety impacts. Marine Facilities Operations & Maintenance
Marine facilities operations & maintenance are part of an ongoing long term management process of facilities upkeep, alterations and enhancement. Backed by our experienced team, our top-notch services include marine terminal management; wharves & jetties structural inspections and repairs; as well as installation and replacement of fender systems and deck fittings.
The function of a fender system is to protect marine structures against damage from ships during berthing operations, and also to limit reactive forces on a ship’s hull. Our expertise in fender systems was acquired alongside our specialized works over the years in jetty construction. The fender systems that we install include cell fender, arch fender, cylindrical fender and small craft fendering.
Refurbishing corroded, deteriorated and damaged marine structures is a specialised business, and one which HSL excels in. Prior to commencement of repair works, our inspection specialists examine all structural elements of wharves and jetties to identify defects. Further checks on structural integrity are performed on instances of accidental damage. We work closely with clients to devise tailored repair programs to rehabilitate and strengthen structures. When necessary, we will provide solutions for temporary bypass and also restoration operations. All these are executed in a timely and meticulous manner while keeping downtime to a minimum.
Valuable deck space meant that installations and replacement of deck fittings are demanding in various ways. Apart from meeting facilities operational constraints, right knowledge and skills on installing fittings are essential to ensure error free operations. In that, our intimate knowledge on deck fittings has allowed us to facilitate timely arrangement and smooth handing over of large structural components from all parts of the world.
